Fruits of our Labor....

Yesterday, Thursday Dani got an excuse to come home from the military because of his seminar, we visited shortly our garden in Steinenbuehl, and was very surprise how our plants is growing. The last days we experience some heavy rains and thunder storms, and since we're not living in the near from our garden ,we don't see it everyday. We were very happy to see how they're growing and how many fruits especially the zucchetti or better known in english zucchini. Zucchini is a small summer squash of the squash family, it's scientific name is " Cucurbita pepo". It can either be yellow, or green, or light green. It has generally a shape similar to a ridged cucumber, though a few cultivars are available that produce round or bottle-shape fruit. But unlike cucumber it is usually served cooked, often steamed, boiled, grilled, stuffed and baked, barbecue or fried. I like it better in ratatouille, I can simply and quickly cooked it and I like the taste also. But because we have a lot from them now, I would conserved it also, with wein vinegar, sugar, curry, and green pepper corns. It is a recipe I have learned from my colleague before, an old Joguslawian woman, who makes a lot of things conserved and self-made. I have tasted it also last winter, together with raclette is just fantastic. I have a sweet teeth and I like everything that is sweet, and mix with vinegar...mmmh...I love it. Dani and his family have not tasted it before, but they're also curious how it taste, I'm sure they would like it also. I am glad of my choice to plant also zucchini in out little garden. Before they were in doubt, because zucchini needs a lot of space and we have only a small garden that they can only plant herbs. But now we have not only herbs, we planted celery, garlic, two kinds of cucumber, and also peperoni, and they're all growing so good. At the other side of the house is growing a small lone Ribes or better known here as Johannisbeere, on the coming Autumn were going to prefer the place and plant there ribes and raspberries for next year, also blueberries on the other side. Too bad that they have rented the big part of their ground to a farmer to cultivate and plant, when it is not so then we could have more space to make our garden. The family of Dani are not farmers, though they owned the whole field, and for many, many years the same farmer is renting and cultivating the land for them. Dani and I are only hobby gardener, that's what we loved to do in our spare time. Dani is the only one in the family that has this hobby, all were cooks and have something to do with restaurants or making businesses, or like his grandfather who is better working with the machine as making his hands dirty with gardening. But they have fruit trees all over the place, his grandfather and father have planted them. Now is Dani's turn to plant a tree also for his children, and children's children, and that's what we would do now also. Oh, we have a lot of plans what we would do in the next days and years to come. We want to have a lot of plants growing all over the place, it's really exciting to see something growing with what you have with your own hands planted. Before Dani have to do it alone, but now with me together and we have the same interest makes it a lot more fun esp. for him, he always tells me how very happy and thankful he is to have me as his mate...He just don't know how happy and thankful I am to have him as my mate. We are really thankful for each other that fate have let our path cross, that's why we battles all the storms and thunders that comes our way because we treasure our relationship, and we both believe that finding your soul mate does not happens everyday and to every one. Sometimes couples stays together because they have to, because they are married and also with children. Seldom are couples that's also bestfriends, and are contented to be only them together. Before me and Dani are 24 hours a day together when I was still working, as we are working in the same company, some says it's too much, but with us is 24 hours a day and everyday is not enough. It's like we have known each other the whole lifetime, we are each others piece just like an apple when you break it in half and put it together again...We are one of the lucky people who have found it's missing piece, and not everybody find that, that's why we are very thankful that we have found each other.
